Mavrodaphne of Patras is one of the most noted Greek wines. It is a dessert red wine originating from the province of Achaia in the Western Peloponnese. Mavrodaphne of Patras is characterized by its outstanding bouquet and rich, round, distinctive sweet taste. The wine improves with age and is best consumed slightly chilled at 16°-18°C. It accompanies superbly cheese dishes, fruit, and desserts.
