Almansa, located in the southeast of Spain, is the largest appellation in the world in terms of cultivated Garnacha Tintorera's vineyards. The variety is rooted in this region since a long time ago and there are magnificent very low yield old ungrafted vineyards, planted between 800 to 1,000 meters above sea level, that produce small clusters of excellent grapes from which the resulting wines are very expressive and unique, of cherry red color, almost black, and very long life. Niel Santofimia is made mostly with this variety and is a clear example of the final result after working with these amazing grapes. 85% Garnacha Tintorera, 15% Merlot.
